Blackheads / Whiteheads

Most people experience some form of acne between the ages of 12 and 24, and these instances are usually mild to moderate. Blackheads and whiteheads are the most common forms of acne, as well as being the easiest forms to treat.

However, the intensity of the treatment needed often depends on how severe the acne is. In many cases, individuals with acne can simply wash the affected area a couple of times a day and wait for the issue to clear up on its own.

In other cases, acne can be persistent, and flare-ups can occur repeatedly, even when an individual does their best to keep the affected area clean.

What’s the Difference Between Blackheads and Whiteheads?

Both blackheads and whiteheads are common forms of acne, but they differ from one another in appearance.

A blackhead looks like a black dot (or section of black dots) on an affected area of the skin. They’re an open form of acne that occurs when the pores become clogged with dirt and oil. They are most commonly found on the face, especially the nose.

A whitehead, on the other hand, appears as an irritated bump on the skin that’s characterized by a white tip. This form of acne is closed and often needs to either be “popped” or left alone to clear up. They can appear anywhere on the body, but are common on the face, shoulders, and back.

Acne Treatment

Solace Wellness Center & MedSpa offers an acne-specific facial service for individuals who are struggling with managing acne.

The Purity Anti-Acne Facial is designed to both control acne symptoms and prevent future breakouts of papules, pustules, blackheads, whiteheads, and scarring. It’s an ideal service for those who suffer from acne, but find store-bought acne treatments ineffective.

This facial type is effective in managing all forms of acne, including cystic acne and pustular acne. With ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, and burdock root, the Purity Anti-Acne Facial reduces inflammation as well as gently removing bacteria from the pores.

For the best possible results, we recommend a series of three anti-acne facials and a follow-up of Intense Pulsed Light acne treatment sessions.

If you’ve been dealing with acne and you’ve had little success with store-bought acne treatment options, or you’re having trouble dealing with the side effects of acne medication, call us at 978-851-8600 or schedule an appointment for your first Purity Anti-Acne Facial session, and you’ll be amazed at how much healthier your skin looks and feels.
